Some History of the Parish Online

Stradbally Cemetery

Killeely

One of the most historic sites in the parish.

The Religious Sisters of Charity

The Convent was so much part of the village for many decades; the sisters who ministered here have left a rich legacy behind. The charity of Christ continues to urge us on.

St. Colman’s Church, Roeveagh

With links to the Pugin Family and continental Europe, this church is one of the treasures of South Galway.

Parish Records

Some of the historical records are available to view online.

Mass Paths

Parishioners did not always drive to Church……

The Parish Hall

A building steeped in history – a school and a church in times past – still very much used by the people of the community.

Clarinbridge Cemetery

Roeveagh Cemetery

Kilcornan Church

This church has been a place of worship for centuries. In these times the Syrian Orthodox Community in the Galway area celebrate the Divine Liturgy there, thanks to the generosity of the Brothers of Charity.

Killeeneen Cemetery, on the border with the Parish of Craughwell, is the resting place of the famous Irish poet, Antaine Ó Raifteirí.
